Switching

I am not sure why, but I’ve been thinking of switching hospital since my full term is approaching.

I think because ever since I overheard my gynae’s overseas trip, that somehow got me thinking – what if he’s not in Sg to deliver my baby? Won’t I be paying his gynae fees for nothing (hefty $2.3k for his fees alone, mind you. I can go on a short trip to Bali sak)

I’ve been researching and asking around for opinions, been discussing this with my husband (kesian every night aku hog dia with this issue cos im veryyy fickled)

I need to decide fast, this 12th will my checkup with Dr Aziz.

But my motherly instincts (chet!) are telling me I’d end up in KKH, somehow.

Any thoughts, ladies?

Eh sama laaaa Dr had a seminar overseas on my EDD. I was half hoping I’d give birth either before or after dia balik. Doaku terkabul lol! I heard quite a number of mummies who go to him for appointments bt aft that give birth at another hospital with another gynae. So I guess at the end of the day, up to you? Lol sorry not helping!

KK FTW ! 😆 but seriously babe, if you’re in doubt , just go kkh. U can try calling private suite and see if they have a specific gynae u can take? I’m not sure about the fees though. For me I’ve been going to private suite and so far alhamdulillah happy with the services. Pls Dua for me also ok? 😘
    Xx,

I’ve made an appt, waiting for them to revert back to me. If I don’t choose a specific gynae, anyone on duty will deliver my baby kan? Do you know? Lol

hi babe! I remembered reading your blog when you were blogging about ur wedding (somehow boleh lost track) and then, today, I came across your blog and you are already pregnant!! Masyallah! congrats in advanced to u and hasbern!

As for your question, yes, if your gynae is unable to deliver you on your date, he will probably already have a planned gynae to cover his cases while he is away. Im currently working with a gynaecologist myself and that’s how they usually do it. You may want to check which gynae is going to cover and if you are alright with him/her. Also, kalau your gynae is not the one who delivers you, the fees you pay will be made to the clinic, but the clinic will have to pay the gynae who is covering your initial gynae. So kire, bukan u pay for nothing la. You still pay the gynae who delivers you.

And, kalau u go under subsidies rate with KKH, you wont be able to choose your gynae so kire kalau u beranak niari, whoever who is on duty or on call will deliver you.

There’s pros and cons to that. Pros is that, since its whoever who is on duty, the gynae can be a prof, consultant, registrars even, so not necessary just a medical officer. Cons is that, the gynae who is delivering you is at random, so they definitely wont know your past history, as compared to your private gynae now.

If that make sense! Lol, you can contact me if you have other enquiries! I’ll help where I can! 😀

thank you so much for this!!! we have made an appt with KKH this 21st, we went ahead with whatever gynae thats available, so they gave me a snr consultant. i told them i dont mind whichever gynae available on the day i nak branak, but they said if i opt for a one-bedder its considered private suite and i need to select a gynae.
